My jan 25, 2012 email to Rep. Doug Lamborn regarding his boycott of the president's SOTU

Regarding your boycott of President Obama's SOTU:
I am totally disgusted. I'm not a democrat (or republican), but, well, one person's comment sums it up for me:
"I'm glad to see that our representative has a closed mind about the president’s speech. That's the problem with politics in this country, all our politicians have closed minds. That's why we'll never be better as a country. Different parties will always have different ideas for what's best for the country."

You represent COLORADO constituents-not yourself.  You represent ALL of your constituents, not just the ones you deem worthy, and you have sorely and publicly misrepresented your constituents.

You're not leading this country or even your own state-and you should all be fired for focusing on your own PERSONAL agendas, and for selectively choosing which constituents you're going to work for, choosing only those who you deem worthy..
In addition, YOU all set up OUR president for failure by refusing to do YOUR jobs. Rather than doing your job and working together to find real solutions for America, you're too busy trying to crucify a man who simply wants to do his best for this country. I'm not a democrat, but I'm really sick and tired of republicans who are just as monstrous tyrants as religious fanatics focused on trying to force their ideals and agendas on other Americans rather than finding out what the collective desires are of ALL constituents and working for ALL your constituents cooperatively with all members in Washington.

Dec 2011 email to Members of the Iowa House Eighty-Fourth General Assembly House 100

I am both an ordained minister and a member of my current city’s planning commission, among other things, and I am appalled.  And you should be ashamed.  I cannot fathom how anyone thinks they have the moral right to dictate the private life of another.  I can’t believe your constituents are paying you to meddle in their private lives and waste their tax dollars on such ugly legislation.
This is so horrible to me, that some people are really no different than Hitler or other extremists, in that they think they’re better than another group of people, in this case, gays, and not only think they have more moral value, but that they have the right to control or dictate the lives of that group, in this case, dictating the marriage decisions/abilities for this group.  You are no different than Hitler.  Heinous and horrible. As public officials, you should know that you answer to ALL your constituents, because some of that target group are also your taxpayers and constituents. Christianity (or any other religion) doesn’t have a monopoly on morality. This behavior from anyone is so cruel, especially public officials, elected by the people, promoting discrimination and hatred rather than compassion and acceptance.  Are you aware that Iowa has six recognized hate groups? And your behavior fuels their horrible hate-mongering discrimination and lack of tolerance. As public officials, your job is to keep and protect ALL of your constituents, not just the ones you deem worthy.
Family is determined by love and kinship. Why would you deny that to anyone?

This behavior from anyone, let alone a public official is so cruel, promoting discrimination and hatred. Now you have the opportunity to promote compassion and acceptance, or at least tolerance. I’m sure you have seen this letter to Senate Majority Leader Amy Koch, but it bears a re-read, because it is unconstitutional for anyone to think they can dictate the private lives of another.

It may not be long before your constituents are suing your state for unethical violation of constitutional rights as citizens: http://www.lgbtqnation.com/2011/12/appeals-court-rejects-anti-gay-graduate-students-bid-for-reversal-of-her-expulsion.
‎"the U. S. District Court judge wrote, “The record suggests, and the testimony at the hearing bolsters, the Plan was imposed because Plaintiff exhibited an inability to counsel in a professionally ethical manner — that is, an inability to resist imposing her moral viewpoint on counselees – in violation of the ACA Code of Ethics.”"

My email to Troy, MI Mayor Daniels regarding

Dear Mayor Daniels,
I want to speak to you regarding your Facebook post “I think I'm going to throw away my 'I Love New York' carrying bag now that queers can get married there."  I am both an ordained minister and a member of my current city’s planning commission, among other things, and I am appalled.
As a public official selected by your constituents, your freedom of speech is limited. You’re entitled to your opinion, but you are judging many of your very own constituents, many of whom may have elected you. You (or any other hate-mongerer) do not have the monopoly on morality, and if anything, this makes you even less moral.  You have no more value as a person than any of the gay/lesbian group you are judging.  You can define marriage one way for your life, but you have no right to define marriage for any other human.  Did you know that the state of Michigan is a state with one of the highest rates of hate groups in the country? More than 30 active hate groups exist in Michigan currently, and your behavior fuels their horrible hate-mongering discrimination and lack of tolerance. As a public official, your job is to keep and protect ALL of your constituents, not just the ones you deem worthy.  This is part of the reason my family and I will never move back to Michigan. I do not ever want to be associated with such hatred, and I would never allow my children to grow up thinking that this is normal or acceptable, for it is not.
This behavior from anyone, let alone a public official is so cruel, promoting discrimination and hatred.  Now you have the opportunity to promote compassion and acceptance, or at least tolerance.
